About Me
I see beauty everywhere I go- even in ordinary, mundane things. I take photos and add them to a never ending album in my phone with plans to one day paint them all. I pick up a paintbrush as a challenge to myself, to see if I can share the beauty with you, through each brushstroke. I’m inspired by people, animals, nature, and automobiles. I’m drawn to bright vivid colors which you will often find in my work.
-Carrie
Art has been a lifelong love for Carrie. As a child growing up on the coast of North Carolina in Beaufort, she took art classes after school, which nurtured that love.
Growing into her teen years, Carrie enjoyed drawing cars and portraits of people. It was at this time that she took up a job at a local jewelry store where she learned about gemstones, precious metals, and the art of engraving.
At the age of 21, Carrie decided that she would like to pursue art as a career and began to shift her college studies in that direction. She studied figure drawing and computer arts at the local community college and later continued her studies at UNC- Wilmington.
Carrie’s current work includes realistic and abstract paintings created with oil and acrylic paints. She also creates wire wrap jewelry with natural gemstones.
She finds inspiration for her paintings and jewelry in nature, people, and in her dreams. When she is not creating in her studio, she spends her time with her family, often frequenting live concerts or hanging out at the beach.
